Script Submission Release Form

This Release Form is an agreement between you, the person submitting a script through this website ("I", "me"), and BR Studios LLP ("BR Studios", "you"). It applies to the script I submit and all related material, including its title, logline, synopsis, and all ideas and their particular expression (together, the "Project Materials").

BR Studios has a policy of not considering any creative material unless the submitter first accepts this Release Form. In consideration of BR Studios reviewing the Project Materials, I agree as follows:

  1. Voluntary submission. I am submitting the Project Materials voluntarily and on a non-exclusive basis, through this website. BR Studios accepts script submissions only through this website and will not review scripts sent by email or by any other means. Submission does not oblige BR Studios to read, review, respond to, develop, produce or pay for the Project Materials. BR Studios will contact me only if it wishes to discuss the Project Materials further.
  2. No relationship created. No partnership, employment, agency or other relationship, and no obligation of any kind, is created by my acceptance of this Release Form, my submission, or BR Studios' review or retention of the Project Materials.
  3. Ownership and originality. I am at least 18 years old. I am the sole author of the Project Materials, or I am authorised to submit them on behalf of all their authors. To the best of my knowledge, the Project Materials are original and do not infringe any copyright, proprietary right, right of confidentiality or other right of any person, and no third party has any right, title or interest in them except as I have disclosed to BR Studios in writing. I agree to defend and indemnify BR Studios against any third-party copyright claims relating to the Project Materials, including reasonable attorney fees.
  4. Registration. If the Project Materials are registered with a screenwriters' association or other registration body, I have provided the registration details in the submission form.
  5. Similar material. I understand that BR Studios receives many submissions and develops its own projects, and that these may contain elements similar to or identical with elements of the Project Materials. BR Studios' use of such material shall not obligate BR Studios to me in any manner if BR Studios developed or obtained it, before or after my submission, independently or from sources other than me.
  6. No transfer of rights. Nothing in this Release Form assigns or licenses any rights in the Project Materials to BR Studios. Any such assignment or licence will require a separate written agreement on mutually agreed terms.
  7. Confidentiality. BR Studios will treat the Project Materials as confidential and use them only to evaluate the Project. Both parties will keep any discussions and information exchanged about the Project confidential and will not disclose them to any third party without the other party's prior written consent. BR Studios may share the Project Materials with its affiliates, employees, contractors, advisors and partners on a need-to-know basis.
  8. Copies and deletion. I have kept my own copy of the Project Materials. If BR Studios decides not to proceed with the Project, or if I request it in writing at scripts@brstudios.in, BR Studios will delete the Project Materials from its systems within a reasonable time. BR Studios may keep a record of my submission (my contact details, the title, logline and date of submission, and this Release Form) for legal and record-keeping purposes.
  9. Other production houses. I may submit the Project Materials to other production houses. If any other production house greenlights the Project, I will promptly inform BR Studios, and BR Studios may then stop reviewing the Project.
  10. Personal information. BR Studios will use the contact details I provide only to process my submission and to communicate with me about it, and will handle them in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
  11. Electronic acceptance. By ticking the box and typing my name below, I agree that this constitutes my electronic signature and that this Release Form is a valid and binding electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000. BR Studios will record the name I type and the date and time of my acceptance.
  12. Governing law. This Release Form is governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
  13. Severability. If any provision of this Release Form is found wholly or partly invalid, the remainder shall remain in effect, and the invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid one that comes as close as possible to its original purpose.
  14. Entire agreement. I have read and understood this Release Form. No representation of any kind has been made to me other than as contained in it, and it states the entire understanding between BR Studios and me regarding my submission.
